This stupid app is insisting all of the sudden I use it, I have a site saved to my homescreen basically in app mode for a forum, and never had issues before but now it had popped up something like "select browser to open" and it only shown samsung internet. As well as discord opening youtube links into it or chrome and not youtube..

But this samsung internet I want OFF my phone.

It happened because you accidentally set Samsung Internet as your Default Browser.

Download something like Brave Browser, it will give you the option to select it as your Default Browser, then uninstall Brave Browser, then you'll have the choice of which browser you use.

Nope, I looked through my settings etc also never touched that stuff before it started to do that

The reason why I suggested "accidentally", is occasionally Samsung Internet will popup with "Make Samsung Internet your default browser", and if you are moving quickly, it can happen that Samsung Internet is inadvertently selected as the default browser.

Keep this in mind for future reference, as you say that you resolved the issue.

Hmm not sure that might have happened but the settings had chrome so don't know what was up.

Like I also said discord was opening youtube links in chrome instead of opening YouTube all of the sudden so it's just acting weird in that way

I did end up uninstalling the "forum app" and reinstalling it, seemed to fix that issue for now

Hi Ry98,

If the shortcut for your forum is acting up, try removing it and re-adding it:

Delete the existing home screen shortcut by long-pressing it and selecting Remove. Open the Samsung Internet app, navigate to the site, and then tap the three-dot menu and select Add to Home screen to create a new shortcut.

Sometimes, clearing the cache can help with stubborn app behaviors: Go to Settings > Apps. Select Samsung Internet and then Storage. Tap Clear cache. You can also do this for Discord and any other apps that are misbehaving.

After trying these steps, please see if the issues with link handling and browser defaults are resolved!

Thank you.

Hello thanks I did remove the shortcut (it opens like an app) and went onto chrome on the site and added it back, and it worked. I'll try discord, but that said I never use Samsung internet so it would be nice to just uninstall it.
