I bought flip6. It's been about 10 days and I noticed it has dust under camera lens when under sunlight.

I contacted samsung they said they only replace within 48 hours. On arrival inside my room it looked ok. It's hard to notice such thing.

So they're asking me to return the unit for full refund but issue is my trade in. Or they can repair it but then it's a refurbished phone.

Is this the quality and support to expect for a $1700 phone?

Samsung store verified there's no damage to phone and it's a defect for dust to be inside camera lens but they said I bought from Samsung.ca so only they can replace.

Just go to a Samsung store... They are everywhere... It's worth the ride, believe me.

I did. They confirmed the damage is defective and I did not do it but they said samsung.ca is to handle it as they sold me not the store.

Did you file a claim yet?

Yes. They will only repair. Not exchange. Makes it seem like an expensive refurbished device

Under the warranty, it says that if it is a defect and is fixable, they will fix it free instead of giving you an entire new phone. If they asked for money, then that is an entire different story.

Once you file the claim, then they ask you to bring it to a store, after which they verify it. If needed, they replace it based on the date and warranty. It doesn't take that long. It's just complicated.

Yes, because it’s a minor defect. So, giving you a new phone would make them lose money.

Samsung actually cares about its customers, unlike most. You actually pay for the tech and not the brand itself. Well, I should actually say not only the brand.
