There's a significant issue with Samsung S and Note series phones, involving green/white/pink line flickering. Samsung India(confirmed via Rash Yathore) offers free replacements for S20, S20+, S20U, Note 20, and Note 20U, and Samsung Philippines should address this issue too. It's a widespread problem that needs attention. My brother's best friend, who also owns an S20, experienced a green line, though the phone remains usable, the issue persists.

If this widespread problem continues in the phone's predecessor lineup, previous owners may be hesitant to consider purchasing the same phone again. Addressing this issue is crucial to maintain customer trust.

Note that the phone did not drop that may cause damage to its internal parts.

Hey Genossss, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Right now, the only thing I can advise you to do is to visit the nearest Samsung Service Center for diagnostics and repair - they can get your device working again.

You can book an appointment through your Samsung Members app or by calling #GALAXY.

DID ANYONE HERE ACTUALLY FILE A COMPLAINT TO DTI? https://www.dti.gov.ph/konsyumer/complaints/

Yes, I filed a complaint to DTI and they already replied to me asking for additional docs including the Job Order number which I already got from Samsung. Samsung's head office here in PH declined my request for FOC for my Samsung Note 20 Ultra. I also have a Samsung Note 20+ 5G which started overheating after a software update on Feb 2023 and now the phone's display is dead. Then on Jun 4, 2023, there was a software update on my Samsung Note 20 Ultra then ***, the green line appeared. Plus, also in Feb this year, I bought an S23+ phone and guess what, it already experienced software issue (device is not Google Play certified), I only discovered it because it turned out that the device isn't compatible with Netflix (weird right?). I got lucky with my s23+ phone because it's still practically new and still under warranty so I asked for a replacement which they granted.

But I'm definitely pushing for my DTI complaint for my Samsung Note 20 Ultra phone. I suggest you guys do the same, it's very easy to fill out the form and submit it to DTI. They're very responsive and the whole process isn't complicated/

Update:

Even with flickering white screen, I manage to turn on Maintenance Mode on S20U using USB C to HDMI connector then connect to TV. After turning the Maintenance Mode, the screen returns to normal, but a subtle white line flickers, nearly invisible unless viewed up close.

The S20+, which hasn't been use or touch for more than a month, somehow return back to normal but shows similar problem sa S20U.

Again, the Authorised Service Center, which is a third-party repair center authorise by samsung, identified the cause of the flickering screen as a faulty LCD and provided us a quotation of 14,000 for the S20+ and 18,000 for the S20 Ultra.20230829_153135_1000020142_1693294296.jpg

The S20+ running one UI 5 and S20U running 5.1, exhibit symptoms of flickering after both phones were updated to their respective version.

Pink line issue on the phone screen is the same as the green line issue. It indicates hardware damage to the display. You will need to get your display replaced. There are no software fixes for the same.
