Can I safely clear the data in the smart switch app without effecting any files on my phone, currently? Thanks

Yes, you can clear both Cache & Data for the Smart Switch app, you can also uninstall it if you want. 

You will NOT lose any of the data currently on your phone.

Hi, I currently have, 5.43 GB on my Samsung Smart Switch App. I can't seem to delete the data of the app. I tried clearing the cache first and then clearing the data. I tried uninstalling updates, even disabling it entirely and the app data is still there. 
I can't seem to get rid of it taking up space on my phone.

Are you talking about the Smart Switch app itself, or a Smart Switch backup? 

What device do you have & if it has an external sd card, is the backup saved to the external sd card? 

On my S23 Ultra, Smart Switch's app + data is ~ 170 Meg. 

 

On my S20 Ultra One UI V5.1, Smart Switch's app is using ~ 221 Meg of storage.

If you have 5.43 Gig of Data, that's definitely not the Smart Switch app itself, that's definitely a backup.

The app itself, the whole backup was done through the two phones wirelessly.
I got an S22 Ultra. I even went and restarted a bunch of times too.

Use a File Browser like My Files, Solid Explorer etc & Search for the Smart Switch backup & delete it there. 

What device do you have again?

Hi, Clearing the Smart Switch app cache will erase unnecessary files and will clean out the temporary files of the app.

So that, you won't lose any of your app's saved passwords or data.

That is NOT what they are asking! 

They are asking if Clearing Cache & Data for the Smart Switch app, would delete anything from their device, not the app.

AND, the answer to their question is, NO, nothing on the device's storage will be touched by Clearing Cache & Data for the app.
