Ever since the Oct 6 software update my screen does a quick flicker intermittently. It loses my text message I'm composing at the time as well. A friend of mine says similar things have happened to them since the update. Anyone else having this issue?

Hi, Welcome to the Samsung Members Community Canada. Since the issue occurred after an update, we request you to try the wipe cache partition and check if the issue still persists.

Turn off the device.

Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby / Power key.

When the Android logo displays, release both keys.

An 'Installing system update' message may show briefly before the Android Recovery menu options appear.

Press the Volume down key several times to highlight "Wipe cache partition".

Press Bixby / Power key to select.

Press the Volume down key to highlight Yes, then press the Bixby / Power key to select.

When the process is complete, the Reboot system now is highlighted.

Press the Bixby / Power key to restart the device.

Will I lose anything on my phone such as photos or things on my Samsung notes?

If you Wipe Cache, you won't lose anything at all!

Thanks. I switched my text message to Google message from Samsung. I haven't had it flicker yet. But I will give it a day to be sure

Yeah, if it's what I think it is, wiping cache won't do anything.

Thanks for the help

Well it's been 3 days after taking RedDogRabbit's advice on fixing this issue. Ever since I shut down Samsung messages and installed Google messages I've had no more issues. Thanks for the help.
