Struggling to move my Data from Huawei Mate 50 Pro to Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, Please help.

I recently bought a Galaxy S23 Ultra, I want to switch from Huawei Mate 50 Pro. I am struggling to switch, Smart Switch does install in the Huawei phone but does not want to work. I have had the S23 Ultra for 3 weeks now but still can't use it because of this issue. 

The way I see it, the Smart Switch on the Huawei phone installs under the app GBOX, and GBOX seems not to have all the permissions on the phone. 

I would appreciate it if someone here has a solution on this. I do not want to loose my data, especially WhatsApp.

We are sorry to hear about the issue and the limitations you're experiencing with Smart Switch. Please try the steps and check if it can resolve the issue:

Please make sure that GBOX has all the necessary permissions on your Huawei device. Check in your app settings to grant any missing permissions that might affect Smart Switch.

If you haven’t already, try connecting both phones using a USB cable. Sometimes, the wired connection works more reliably than wireless transfer.

Alternative Transfer Methods:

WhatsApp Transfer: For WhatsApp, you can use their built-in chat migration feature. Make sure you back up your chats on the Huawei phone, then restore them on the S23 Ultra by verifying your number on the new device.

Manual Transfer: For other data like photos and contacts, consider using Google Drive or a PC to back up important files manually.

GBox appears to have one permission missing, "allow usage access," and its greyed out or it does not allow to be turn ON/Enabled. 

I did make a hard connection connecting both phones together with a type-c to type - c cable. Huawei backed up locally, but Galaxy phone seems to only look for backups from google drive only. 

I even manually copied the whatsapp backup data from internal storage of the Huawei Phone to Galaxy phone, still Galaxy phone attempts to restore backup date from cloud not locally.  

May you kindly take me through the Whatsapp Transfer option.

Sure you give Smart Switch usage data access?

You should probably give enabled every access possible for the app.
