Just wanted to shout out to Samsung for my camera app crashing while recording my kids coming down the stairs to see the Christmas tree, S23 Ultra but the video app isn't reliable?.. Thanks

We are really sorry to hear that happened during such a special moment. The Galaxy S23 Ultra has one of the most powerful camera systems, but issues like app crashes can ruin experiences. Let's troubleshoot this to help prevent it from happening again:

Clear Camera App Cache and Data: Settings > Apps > Camera > Storage. Tap Clear Cache. If issues persist, Clear Data (this won’t delete your photos or videos).

Reset Camera Settings: Open the Camera app > Tap the Settings icon > Scroll down and select Reset settings.

Low storage can sometimes cause instability during video recording: Check Settings > Battery and Device Care > Storage.

Use Safe Mode to Test for Conflicts. Third-party apps could cause crashes:

  1. Turn off your phone.
  2. Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons until the Samsung logo appears.
  3. Release the Power button while continuing to hold Volume Down.
  4. Safe Mode will appear at the bottom-left corner.
  5. Try recording a video. If it works, the issue may be caused by a third-party app.

If you want to save memories in a good way, get a decent camera. A smartphone can't compete, especially in low light situations.

I worked at BestBuy one holiday season in Hamilton up the escarpment. Same thing happened to this weekly shopper whom got convinced to buy a mini DVD-Camcorder (2005) and expected pure crystal quality. Colleague that sold to him was told dont but the comi$$ion on sale was over $100, ans he quit 2 days later.

Dude comes in boxing day, shorts covered in robe and xmas hat ans slippers! A calm livid expression he had looking for any rep all seemed immediately too busy until me the newb got his stare. Quick chat, he brings me over to TVs plugged in ... (yeah bwfore he hit play i begged him PLEASE make sure no husband wife gift unwrappings was tapped to be shown/kids are in store).

Quality was garbage like 240p thru greesy plastic lens! 😮 manager THE Ebenezer of refunds worried the same video came at me yelling. I point to dude big smile "quality no good, sir?" Growl came over shopper. Manager loooks, "Im already processing a refund" lol.

To bad is never this easy today
