Galaxy SThe June security update is already rolling out to Samsung’s latest flagships, but there are plenty of Galaxy devices that are yet to receive the current month’s security update. Or, in this case, some variants: Unlocked units of the Galaxy S10 series are now getting the May 2021 security update, a couple of weeks after the update was released internationally and a day after a similar update was released for some carrier variants of the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ in the country.
The rollout of the update, which sports firmware version G97xU1UES5GUD1, started today. Unfortunately, it seems Samsung hasn’t included any of the improvements that were a part of the international release, namely improvements to file sharing over Quick Share and to camera performance. You only get the security patch for the month of May. Perhaps carried-locked variants will be luckier, but owners of unlocked units of the Galaxy S10e, S10, or S10+ will currently have to sit out and hope for those improvements to be included in the next update.
