Galaxy SIf you stayed up for Galaxy Unpacked 2026, you probably noticed one thing. This year went beyond wild redesigns. It was more strategic. Here's the breakdown:
Privacy Display on the Ultra
A new Privacy Display means when you’re looking straight at your screen, it’s crystal clear. But from the sides, everyone else sees… less. No more awkward shoulder surfing on public transport. You can even protect specific parts of the screen. All while your screen stays clear to you.
The camera refined across the board
The main camera now has a wider f/1.4 aperture. Translation? More light. Meaning? Cleaner detail on every shot, even when you zoom. Also, you can now shoot 8K straight to an external SSD. Yes, external.
Nightography also gets sharper. Low light shots don’t just brighten the scene but now keep texture.
Videos feel steadier too. Horizontal Lock keeps your frame level even when your hand doesn’t. Walking shots look less chaotic, and group clips feel smoother without needing extra gear.
And the front camera? Still 12MP, but tuned better. Cleaner selfies. More natural detail. Less overprocessed shine. Finally.
Side note...
I found it mindblowing that they filmed the whole event with just the Galaxy S26 Ultra 🤯
AI that actually lives in the system
Perplexity joins Galaxy AI. You can say “Hey Plex.” It works inside Notes, Calendar, Gallery. Photo Assist edits with simple text. Describe it. Done.
Object erase? Now you can add objects too
On the camera side, Photo Assist lets you edit with simple text prompts. Change scenes. Restore missing details. Merge shots. Just describe it.
Performance jump where it matters
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 pushes things further. Up to 19% CPU boost. 39% NPU lift. Translation: smoother AI, heavier tasks, less waiting.
Buds4 quietly upgraded
Redesigned. New case. Head gesture controls. Better two way speakers. Six mic array for cleaner calls. Buds4 Pro push 24 bit 96kHz audio.
Colors
The Galaxy S26 Series comes in 4 colors, but you can check out the online-exclusive colorshere.
And not forgetting the new Buds4 Series, alsohere.
Price
Here's the million-dollar question. How much?
The Galaxy S26 Series starts at ₱58,990 with the Base and Plus models, while Ultra holds at a starting ₱86,990.
But if you know Samsung, then you can expect a ton of deals and discounts that you can get only at pre-order. Check it out here.
Here are some spec frames from the Unpacked:
My take?
Samsung is leaning into intelligence as infrastructure. Not gimmicks, not flashy curves. And honestly, that feels like the right long game. A more sustainable direction where your phone doesn’t just look new every year, but actually behaves smarter over time.
Some features will need real world testing. Some look genuinely useful. But one thing is clear. Samsung is betting that intelligence, not just specs, is what moves phones forward.
What stood out to you the most from Unpacked this year?
