Is there any way of leaving voice recorder on and activating only while making voice notes? (I don't want to waste battery by leaving on, nor do I want to accidentally record conversations.)
Or, can I leave Voice Recorder in "pause" "standby" mode and turn on manually? If so, how?
My reason is this: I often 4get a task(s). So, if I could voice record it rather than searching for my notepad - virtual or actual, it would relieve my old brain from the stress of forgetfulness! Any other suggestions would be greatfully appreciated! (I know there must be many out there who have solutions!)

Hi lansur,

At this time, the Samsung Voice Recorder app does not offer a “pause” or “standby” mode that keeps the microphone active in the background. To help conserve battery and protect privacy, the recorder only activates when you manually start a recording. For quick access, we recommend adding the Voice Recorder widget to your home screen or assigning a shortcut to the Side Key, so you can begin recording with a single tap or button press.

As an alternative, you may also find Samsung Notes or Reminder useful, as both apps allow you to create voice memos directly and set reminders for tasks. This can provide the convenience of recording on demand while ensuring your device remains efficient and secure.
