Having issues with a delay with the volume up and down while using YouTube only (so far).
I've noticed this since the one UI 8 update. The app has been updated, deleted and reinstalled and it still has a delay.

Any ideas out there would be appreciated!

Thanks

If you're streaming YouTube, delays could be related to your connection speed & stability.

You could also try going to Settings > Apps Search for YouTube & Click on it > Scroll down to Storage & Clear Both Cache & Data for the app.

Uninstalling & Reinstalling may leave data on your device, so Clearing BOTH Cache & Data should remove any remnants of the app, you could THEN Uninstall / Reinstall if you want.

You could also test Volume Up / Down with another app, ie: Spotify, Samsung music etc.

You could also Open the Samsung Members app & Click on Support, run the Diagnostics for your Volume Buttons...see if you get any error messages?

No error message. The volume works on every other app that uses volume.
I've cleared both the cashe and data, still the same issue.
Literally only with YouTube on the device, Not while streaming.

Is this YouTube app or YouTube music, or both?

You can try going to YouTube Settings (the Gear icon) > Additional Settings > Toggle Stable Volume Off, or On The OPPOSITE of the current setting.

See if that works for you?

Just YouTube.
Tried the stable volume toggle a couple times and repeated the other steps suggested as well, Still a delay.

Sometimes the delays are longer than others as well.
3-5 seconds to 5-7 second deslyas at times.

Strange.. You can try Booting into Recovery & Wiping Cache.

1) Turn off the device.

2) Press and hold the Volume Up key and the spower button.

3) When the Android logo displays, release all keys.

4) Press the Volume down key to navigate and select "Wipe cache partition".

5) Press Power key to select. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Select Reboot System.

6) Press the Power key to restart the device.

You won't lose any data wiping cache..

This MAY help, but the delay you are talking about, sounds like there might be a problem somewhere else?

Only other thing that you can do, would be to Backup your device with Smart Switch & Factory Reset..

Yeah, possibly something else. It's not a huge issue but I figured I put it out there and see if anyone else may be experiencing anything similar.

I'll attempt the recovery Cache wipe and see how that works.
I appreciate all the feedback.

Safe Mode, might be helpful, except since Safe Mode disables 3rd party apps, it all depends if it thinks that YouTube is a 3rd party app or not on your device?

You could try it, if YouTube isn't disabled for you, it could help rule out if another app you installed is causing the issue?

There's zero delay on my S25 Ultra using YouTube streaming.

Hi BlkWingMC,

Thank you for reporting the delay you are experiencing when adjusting the volume while using YouTube following the One UI 8 update. We appreciate the detailed information you have already provided regarding the steps you have taken.

To assist further, please try the following troubleshooting measures:

  1. Verify App Updates

    • Ensure that both the YouTube app and the Google Play Services are updated to their latest versions.

  2. Clear Cache Partition

    • Power off the device, then boot into recovery mode and clear the cache partition to remove residual system files.

  3. Reset App Preferences

    • Navigate to Settings → Apps → Reset app preferences to restore default permissions and configurations.

  4. Test in Safe Mode

    • Boot the device into Safe Mode to determine if third‑party apps are interfering with system performance.

  5. Submit Error Report

    • If the issue persists, please submit an error report via the Samsung Members app. This will allow our technical team to review system logs and investigate compatibility concerns.

We regret the inconvenience this has caused and assure you that your feedback is valuable in helping us improve the user experience.
