I just ipgraded to S23. My wechat app was transferred but when I try to restart it I never receive the verification text from wechat. 
Initially I had the same issue with Facebook but fixed it. 
Is this a China thing? It shows text sent to my number and/or email but neither ever appear.

The verification of WeChat is difficult. The text verification is not always working. Try use friends send you code or use QR code to verify.
