[First photo] Firstly, in whatsapp settings, check if your media visibility is turned on or off. If turned on, it will show up in your gallery.
[Second photo] Secondly, check if your chat is disappearing. Messages are turned on or off. If turned on the pictures will not show up in your galaxy.
[Third photo] Lastly, if either of it works try saving it manually. Open the picture, on top 3 dots then press on save.
