Why is S25 Edge excluded from trade-in?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and noticed something that doesn’t make sense — Samsung is accepting every other S25 model for trade-in, but not the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.

This feels inconsistent, especially since the Edge is part of the same flagship lineup. Trade-in value is a big factor in upgrade decisions, and excluding just one model raises questions.
Curious if others are seeing the same thing:
Has anyone been able to trade in an S25 Edge at all?

Does Samsung usually delay adding newer models to trade-in programs? ( briefly appeared once only and then disappeared before I could act )

Any official response or workaround?
If this is intentional, it’s pretty disappointing and honestly makes upgrading harder to justify. At times, I contemplate whether I should have exercised more foresight prior to exchanging my Fold 5 for the S25 Edge.

Would appreciate any insights or experiences from the community.

Did you try contacting Samsung's online chat?

I agree that it doesn't make sense for Samsung to not accept this device on Trade-in.

I have not yet utilized the online chat feature, but I did send an email to the CEO via Samsung Canada's website and also posted a tweet on March 4th, neither of which has received a response.

As I have not received assistance through online chat in the past, I decided to explore other communication channels this time.

Nah, I haven't, but seeing the inventory and the lowball offers a friend got for his S25 Edge, I'd rather just keep it. That was probably a bad call on my part; I should've held onto my Fold 5 and traded it for a Fold 7 or 8, but now I'm thinking I might as well get my hands on a Find N6.

It was classified as a "failed product line" so for Samsung they dont care, even if it doesn't make sense.

Sorry not sure what that means , its not that all models they accept in trade in have been very successful yet they're accepted .

Hi ttoronto,

In some cases, certain models may appear temporarily or be added later as eligibility criteria are updated. We recognize how frustrating it can be when a flagship device like the S25 Edge is excluded, and we’ve shared your feedback with our internal team for review.

We recommend checking the Samsung Canada trade‑in page regularly, as eligible devices are updated over time. For further assistance, please contact the Samsung Support team(https://www.samsung.com/ca/support/service-center/), who will be able to guide you with the best available options.
