Hello,

I am confused why I am seeing a banner saying me to upgrade to google messages on samsung messages app. I tried google messages but it looks so inconvenient to use, it has too many icons in the text field (including sim selection icons too) which not only makes it ugly but also makes the input text field so small and lack visibility. Anyway, why Samsung move to push towards google messages ? Anyway to block these banners ?

That's funny. Do you think Google dont share data with 3rd party or use it for ads ? If i want google Apps, i would go for pixel. The Messages app by Google is unusable with too many garbage icons in input area.

Google message is ugly and hard to use. Don't know why samsung made this stupid decision. I agree with you. If I want Google apps, I would go for pixel!

Samsung is a billion dollar company with its own OS. They can enable RCS. 3rd party apps are enabling RCS. Why not Samsung with in their OS ? I wish Samsung would go away from Google services and become like Huawei.

Unfortunately they don't have their own OS yet. They're using Android from Google with their overlay One UI.

they did have there own OS which was called BADA, but they stopped producing it! It was only on one phone the Samsung Wave, which was it's name here in Canada!

I believe it is because of the RCS support that you will get more functionality when you are texting with an Apple iPhone.

I don't like google messages apps, but I like the additional features when I text with an iPhone user.

Hi Bobby03,

We certainly understand your concern on this. Google Messages is currently the primary app supporting RCS with its full suite of reactions, replies, typing indicators, and read receipts.

For a consistent experience, we recommend you to please switch to Google messages instead of preloaded Samsung Messages App.

Download from Google Play store > Google Messages and set as default. Google Messages ensures a smarter experience through AI suggestions and automatic organization.

Thank you.

How about we start using all Google apps and switch to Google Pixel? You should help to escalate this to higher levels rather than just convincing us to adopt Google.
