Hello,

I am confused why I am seeing a banner saying me to upgrade to google messages on samsung messages app. I tried google messages but it looks so inconvenient to use, it has too many icons in the text field (including sim selection icons too) which not only makes it ugly but also makes the input text field so small and lack visibility. Anyway, why Samsung move to push towards google messages ? Anyway to block these banners ?

You know Google Messages will soon be the base messaging app when a Samsung moderator is saying to switch.

So when we switch to the Google Messages, the Samsung Mesaages App would become bloatware? Why dont you give us the option to uninstall it?

So, after I switch to Google messages, how do I remove Samsung messages from my phone?

I am getting these as well, I tried Google messages in the past and don't like it as much as Samsung messages. Plus with Samsung messages you can click on a saved contact and get the option of a live call or their other information. Google messages would also regularly tell me things I already knew. For ex. that my A9+ tabllet was paired with my S23 Ultra.

Maybe I don't want to give Google any more control over my life than it already has. I don't want to use Google messages.

I agree with the majority of people here. If I wanted Google messaging, I'd get a Google phone. The constant prompt to switch is quite frustrating.

It's too bad that Samsung is choosing to ignore their customers.
