Will the Galaxy fold special edition coming to Korea work if imported to Australia?

Samsung Wallet won't work.

Also I'm not sure how the phone will go here with the 3G shut down.

I haven't tested my Korean handset for Network compatibility, since I didn't buy it for use here.

Android phones in Korea list HD for their voice calls, but I don't know if it's just their branding of VoLTE or something else.

Edit: also keep in mind you're looking at around 3K for the Folde SE in Korea if you go and buy it yourself, or much more if buying through someone else.

Test it and get back to me 😂🙏

😂 😂 😂

Ignore what I said earlier.

Just restarted the phone after resetting the APN, and I now have VoLTE showing in the status bar.

So it may work.
But I can't confirm with the send text to 3498 test.
So YMMV1729751416021_1729751416011_0.jpg1729751570538_1729751570523_0.jpg

Apparently if it's unlocked it will work according to Telstra. Does content still come up in Korean on your phone?

As per my post below, yes some things will only display in Korean, regardless of the set system language.

But this isn't generally an issue for day to day stuff, except some system/app updates from the Galaxy Store, where the update info will often be in Korean too.
But not a problem for apps you download from the Play Store.

You'll also get to enjoy the warnings about using the phone while walking and driving, every time you reboot 😂😂😂

Oh, 1 more thing I forgot.
Even if you set the phone to English, some things will still come up in Korean.

That's just because you have some applications that have installed their locators Korean.
If you put a new image or remove these apps and initialise them again it should all go to English

No, many system apps can not be removed/replaced.

And even if you use a VPN, or an Aus sim card, some things will still be locked to Korea/Korean Language.

I'm fine as I can read/write Korean, and I bought this device for use in Korea anyway.
But I'm just letting others know if they choose to go this route.

I would be surprised if Android dev studio couldn't fix all that up.
I have literally removed all Samsung apps from my phone before, even all the subsystems with no ui...
These are just computers, it can all be done 😊
