Whenever I am outside and it's sunny my screen flashes/flickers white for a split second. I don't get this when I'm inside only when I am out in the sunlight. Has anyone else ever experienced this issue?

Hi Jrp0209,

The Adaptive Brightness feature automatically adjusts your screen's brightness depending on ambient light. In very bright sunlight, the phone may quickly boost the brightness to its maximum, causing a brief flicker or flash as it adjusts.

Please try this: Go to Settings > Display > Adaptive Brightness and toggle it off. Then, manually adjust the brightness and see if the issue persists when you're outside.

The Galaxy Z Fold5 may have a High Brightness Mode that is activated in direct sunlight, causing a sudden change in screen brightness. This might result in the white flicker you notice.

Turn off Extra Brightness under Settings > Display. It may prevent the sudden flicker when you're outside.

If the issue is recent or started after a software update, it could be related to a software bug. In that case, performing a cache partition wipe might help.

Steps to Wipe Cache Partition:

Press and hold the Power button and select Power off > Press and hold the Volume Up button and the Power button at the same time.Continue holding both buttons until the Samsung logo appears, then release them > After a moment, you should see the Recovery Mode menu on the screen > Use the Volume down button to navigate through the options > Highlight Wipe cache partition > Press the Power button to select Wipe cache partition > Use the Volume down button to highlight Yes and press the Power button to confirm.

Once the cache is cleared, the Reboot system now option will be highlighted > Press the Power button to reboot your Galaxy Z Fold5.

Your device will restart, and the cache partition will be wiped. This process will not affect your personal data or installed apps. After restarting, check if the screen flickering or any other issues have been resolved.

Thank you.
