Since the upgrade to Android 12, I got a popup message suggesting I limit the battery recharging to 85 percent in the Settings as a way of saving the battery, yet still getting a decent usage life, ie a day's worth of usage based on how I use the phone and at what time I recharge. Well, I've done that since that message, but find the life is actually reduced. 

For example, today I started with the 85% and after just a very short while on IG, say, 15mins, I noticed the battery was at 50%. Whoa. That's a huge reduction in such a short space of time! Normally, when I start with 100pct and being on IG for my usual time, around one hour, that the battery would be around 90pct at the finish, which I thought was reasonable. 

I think I will go back to doing a full battery charge. Also, I have the battery set to Power saving mode at all times.

Hi @Jmn, that is very strange that it dropped so rapidly. Let us know how you go with a full charge. 

If the issue continues, I suggest sending an error report via the Samsung Members app for this to be investigated. Error reports are sent to our team to identify any deviations in your device performance, once analysed, our team will get back to you with a response to advise further. 

To send an error report:

Samsung Members > Get help > Error reports > Battery > describe issue and frequency > Tick ‘send system log data’ > Send in top right.

Thank you Laura, will keep that in mind. However, since another issue as well and the suggestion that it could be a settling in situation, I have decided to stick with the 85pct for the time being and let the phone's AI system work its magic, with me keeping an eye on battery usage life. If it still reduces quickly, I will make a report.

Hi Laura, Since my reply to you of 25feb, based on my usage pattern and 85pct charge, I am getting at least 24hrs worth of battery life. I think that's reasonable. I also must say that I've had the ZFlip for about 15mths with the original battery. I think that's pretty good.

That's the same on my Fold 3. I have power saving on and most of my apps have been put under deep sleep mode. Yet my battery still discharges quite quickly. This is from day 1 of receiving the phone.
