in order to conserve battery life while asleep, i have battery protection on (im using basic) and sometimes, i use a charger that’s not the samsung-issued one. when i woke up late, i checked the battery life and it turns out my phone has been charging the whole time and did not in fact undergo battery protection.
my question is that battery protection basic only work the samsung-issued charger?

Othersno, any charger that has power delivery or PPS (Programmable Power Supply) can charge your samsung phone.
But for piece of mind i bough 1 samsung brick 25W to charge my buds, phone, and fit3, i rolling when i should charge them, 1 brick to charge 3 different device is cool and it doesn't feel pricey

The battery consumption is typically around 1-2% without overnight use, although this can vary depending on your settings. You can create a custom mode to automatically activate maximum battery protection and power saving when the battery reaches a specific level. Ultimately, the phone's behavior is determined by your preferences. I personally use a mode that, when it detects I'm sleeping (using my Galaxy Watch while charging), disables battery-intensive features such as Wi-Fi, AOD, and cellular data (switching to airplane mode). It's essentially an enhanced version of adaptive battery protection.
