Most smartphones nowadays are capable enough to not let an overload or overcharge happen. There are protection chips inside to make sure that it can't happen in a tablet, smartphone, or even a laptop. So yes, you can charge it overnight.

Most phones use a lithium-ion battery. Once it hits 100% of its capacity, charging stops. However, if you leave the smartphone plugged in overnight, it is going to use a bit of energy constantly trickling new juice to the battery every time it falls to 99%. This is what they called a "trickle charge."

If you do this often, it can eat up your battery's lifespan. That is why I am not doing it! If you want your battery to last longer, you can turn on "Protect Battery" in Settings.

This feature will limit the maximum charge to 85% to extend the lifespan of your battery. Again, it's your device, and it's you who use it on a daily basis. It's up to you!

I hope that clarifies!

Continuous charging even though it's already 100% reduces battery longevity. It's better to charge the phone when you're awake.

Safer pa rin to charge it when your awake to be able to unplug it when it is done but Yongskie is right, smartphones now can actually detect once it is fully charge and stop the phone from overcharging.😊
