The Android KitKat platform was first released almost 10 years ago, and since then Google has brought many innovative improvements and features to Android that were not available in KitKat. As of July 2023, KitKat has dropped below 1% of active devices as more users use the latest version of Android. As such, KitKat will no longer be supported in future versions of Google Play Services due to the difficulty of maintaining support for old devices for a long period of time. Google wants to focus on developing new things for newer devices. KitKat devices will not receive the Play Services APK beyond version 23.30.99
