Lost contacts

I have accidentally deleted my w.hole contacts list,

.how do I retrieve it?

Click on your Contacts (first screen shot) 

Then Click on the account currently showing no Contacts & then Click on the Account with a number of Contacts beside it.

Check that you have your Contacts synced to your Google account, and not the Device or SIM.

Besides RDR suggestion, check the following, you may able to get them back if lucky.

Open Contacts app (Not the contact tab from phone app)

Click 3 bars on top left -> Click Trash

You may able to find deleted contacts there.
