I arrived home from work today and found that both of my Samsung the frame tv’s and both of my Samsung music frame speakers were disconnected from my wifi network. Does anyone know what caused this? I had to individually set them back up on the network. Non of my other devices were affected.

Could have been a very brief power outage?

That's very rarely happened with my Google Home.

Hi Anketchum,

We’re sorry to hear about the inconvenience with your Frame TVs and music frame speakers disconnecting from Wi-Fi.

Here are some steps you can take to avoid this happening again:

Router Maintenance. Restart your router and check for any pending firmware updates.

Wi-Fi Settings. If you’re using both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, consider creating separate SSIDs for each band and connecting your devices to the 2.4GHz band, as it is generally more stable.

Device Updates. Check for firmware updates on your Samsung Frame TVs and speakers. For the TVs, go to Settings > Support > Software Update. For the speakers, check the Samsung SmartThings app for updates.

Disable Power Saving Modes. For your Frame TVs, turn off Eco Mode in Settings > General > Power and Energy Saving to prevent disconnections.

Monitor for Interference. Ensure that the devices are within the recommended range of the Wi-Fi router and not in an area prone to signal interference.

Thank you.

Coincidentally we did have a power outage the day before. But the outage was overnight and I used all of the devices that day without issue. The connection issue happened about 24 hours after the power outage.

Hi Anketchum,

After a power outage, your router or modem may not have fully stabilized or reconnected properly to all devices. It’s possible that your TVs and speakers were working initially but got disconnected later due to a delayed glitch, such as a DHCP lease renewal or synchronization issue.

  • Restart your router and modem.
  • Remove and re-add your TVs and speakers to the network.
  • Ensure your Wi-Fi password hasn’t changed or been corrupted in the router.

Hopefully, this was a one-time issue caused by the power outage!
