I saw a similar thread about this one that was posted on year 2023. It's already 2025, still no update on efforts to make Samsung Pay available in Philippines?

Since there's not a lot of NFC devices in the Philippines (because cost), and the dominance of QR-based platforms like GCash, there's just little room for players like Samsung Pay to make ground.

This makes sense but it's still a wasted opportunity for us to use Samsung Pay when it could be very convenient for us to only bring our phones (or even Galaxy watches) instead of bringing our physical cards for cashless (excluding Gcash and similar FinTech) transactions.

NFC is just too expensive to be accessible for the regular Filipino, unfortunately.

This is understandable but it didn't stop Apple Pay and Google Wallet from exploring the idea of making themselves available in Philippines.
See link for reference: https://business.inquirer.net/493961/apple-pay-google-pay-eye-ph-registration
Also, making Samsung Pay available in Ph does not eliminate the existing methods of payment. If anything, it adds more options and flexibility for us, the users.
I just hope Samsung doesn't get left behind by Apple and Google in this endeavour. Especially since this also makes investing a bit more in Samsung ecosystem more enticing (imagine being able to pay using your Galaxy watch).
