Recently, the top three lithium battery manufacturers in South Korea: LG New Energy, Samsung SDI, and SKI announced their performance reports for the first quarter of this year. According to the report, all of these companies maintained to increase their YoY revenues in which Samsung SDI has the slowest growth rate.
Although the results of the leading South Korean lithium battery makers seem to have made progress, they are not as reflected in the performance report. The global new energy vehicle market maintained a high growth trend in the first quarter that shown significant YoY growth in the global market.
During the first quarter, LG New Energy ranked second, while Samsung SDI and SKI ranked fifth and sixth respectively, in terms of global power battery installed capacity rankings. Overall, Samsung SDI is relatively stable, but being stable in the new energy vehicle market means taking a step slower.
