On my Galaxy Tab s3 - Using Samsung email app, want to send and receive from my telus email account. When I try to add the account I get the following msg:

"Can't set up account. Server does not support authentication."

I get the same msg whether using the POP or the IMAP setting. Have tried both manual and auto set up with the same results.

On my Galaxy s8 phone, this email account works just fine with the following settings: incoming Server - IMAP.telus.net; outgoing server - smpt.telus.net.

Any ideas?

Hey @Ellen! For the email server setup, could you retry following this guide: https://www.telus.com/en/bc/support/article/set-up-email-android-phone-tablet
If it still does not work with the server configurations provided by TELUS, please contact them to check your email configuration: https://www.telus.com/en/bc/support/contact-us?lang=en&prov=bc&INTCMP=VAN_contact-us
Thanks!

Thanks Nick, this guide did provide some additional info on which security type to select, but I still get the same error msg. I will contact Telus. Appreciate your effort here.

Best of luck! this has been around for ages and it rears its ugly head from time to time. try clearing your cache and starting over. I encountered it on my Note 4 and can't remember how I solved it for the life of me
