Hi everyone. I just wanted to shar my recent experiences with Samsung Canada and want to express my complete disappointment in this company. I have been a loyal Samsung customer for many years as far as Televisions, DVD/Bluray and Cellphones are concerned. I have owned 5 generations of Samsung big screen tvs and I think 8 generations of Samsung cellphones. I even used to sell samsung product many years ago through Futureshop when it still existed. I have always loved the quality of the product for the price.
Here is where I am disappointed and may never buy Samsung from here on in...Last year I bought a Samsung Galaxy Book 2 pro 360 directly through Samsung Canada amd last month, I discovered a hairline crack across the screen. I have never dropped, hit, or damaged it in any way and if you google issues with this laptop, many people have had this spontaneous crack issue. I semt in my laptop because the customer care person I spoke with on the phone said, "no problem, I'm sorry to hear that and we will look after you." I was initially so impressed by the service I was receiving! After they received my laptop, the got an email back stating that it was physical damage and if I wanted it fixed, it was going to be $679. I just couldnt believe it! When I called them, the person I spoke with, pretty much called me a liar and just kept saying that it was physical damage. Needless to say, nothing was done and I now have a 1 year old, $2000 laptop with a crack across the screen that I am still paying for.
To add to the frustration, yesterday and now today, I received and email about 2 phones that I had submitted for the trade in program to upgrade and purchase a Samsung S23+ and a Samsung S23 Ultra. The separate emails from Assurant stated that each phone had a defect and the initial trade in offer of $82 was now $33! They sent pics of the supposed defects with no explanation and the pics had no signs of defect in them! Not only that, but both of these phones were in mint condition, always kept in high quality cases with glass screen protectors! Its so funny to me that they found defects in both phones, reducing them to the exact same amount! I now know that this is simply a scam that once you are committed and have received your new product, they undercut you and you have no choice but to accept the reduction or return everything or pay full value!
All of these issues have happened within weeks and I am just blown away. I used to brag and support this company, but no more.
I basically just ranted to all of you in hopes to caution you all to avoid purchase directly through Samsung and possibly purchase another brand.
Finally, I just bought new appliances (Dishwasher, Range, and Over the range microwave) and I avoided Samsung because of this issue as well as having 2 separate sales people tell me that Samsung has horrible Appliance quality and horrible customer service followup.
If anyone reads this and wants to contact me for pictures of my trade in phones or my laptop if they have issues as well, I am more than happy to oblige.
Take care people and thanks for nothing Samsung....enjoy my hard earned money.
Expect an adjustment....unless you marked it as having damage. Luckily I bought a few weeks ago when they had the trade in top up that gave me an extra $350 per phone
Hi there. Can I ask what phone you sent in as I was told on the phone by a Samsung employee if you pre-order (which I did) you can send any phone in to get the $350. Now I'm being told that the note 5 I sent in doesn't qualify! It's all being escalated as I've asked them to go listen to that phone call but I'm not feeling hopeful and wouldn't have purchased the new phone if I wasn't getting the $350 rebate.
