I went to Samsung store at Parramatta for a trade in my old phone for Flip Z4. They didn't accept my password photo but require my driver license. I don't understand why they need photo ID with address? This is a trade in service not a subscription service like Optus and make no sense for that because I will pay off for the new phone after trading.

With such a sensitive time with personal data collection Samsung really need to think about your current policy.

Very disappointed at your service.

Hi @Members_ItGT1My this is normal and is required to minimise risk for Samsung & Asurion and is likely a legal requirement just like it is at pawn shops etc.

This helps the police locate individuals who try to trade/sell stolen goods.
