When the volume on the phone is turned up all the way up, the audio starts to pop a lot when there is a lot of bass.  It was not doing that before the update.  The only workaround is lower the volume by one with stops the noise.

I'm experiencing the same issue, and it carries over to Android Auto. I've had to use the USB-C buds to get away from the distorted audio. Hopefully this will be addressed soon.

I messed around with this last night, and on my phone when I messed with the EQ settings and used anything other than the default 'Normal', the distortion is gone. Or, turning on Dolby Atmos on any setting stopped the distortion. Shouldn't have to do that, but it's something to try until Samsung releases another update. I also have the Galaxy Buds, and it seems to do the trick.
