When selecting the option "Swipe from sides and bottom" the back button is on the whole left and right side. There are app like Play Store where you can swipe from left to right to bring the menu but it just has the back button. There should be a limited amount of area for the back button so it doesn't take the whole left and right side. You can see the back arrow on the top of the screen on right.
