Hi,
I bought one drive cloud space to back up my photos in case I lose my phone. I have synced gallery to one drive. I also asked to clear up space.i did some checks, and I noticed if I delete anything from gallery and resync to one drive those images are also deleted. Thus makes sense as the gallery on my phone syncs to one drive. I have the one drive app. Is there a way I can move my photos into a place on one drive, so that if I empty my gallery it doesn't delete them. Maybe I don't understand the gallery. I'm worried I may take too many photos and it will be full. Then if I delete photos to get more space, when I resync to one drive I will then lose the photos. I think I just need the backup process explained. I usually download to a hard drive and delete from my gallery. I thought the cloud would be more secure. But I don't know how to create a filing system that isn't written over by myself sync. I hope this makes sense. Thank you!

If you go to your OneDrive app > Settings > and click the question mark beside Gallery Sync, it states sync and backup behaves differently.

You will need to unlink your Samsung account with OneDrive (all instructions how to are there in the link).

After that, restart your OneDrive app and you will see the "Camera upload" option now instead of "Gallery Sync".

Have you tried making a new folder in your One drive then move all your synced photos from the Galaxy folder before deleting any from your phone. This is just a suggestion I had trouble as disliked the fact that they synced to the folder Samsung gallery made rather than syncing straight to my Camera folder already there from my last 2 mobiles.

Thank you I thought about trying this. I think I'm giving up on one drive and will try paying for more storage on google photos as that doesn't delete from the backup if you delete from the gallery. Thank you for trying to help.

Ok I may try that option also. But now I think I just want to use google photos and pay for extra storage. This whole one note thing has been a hassle. Thank you for trying to help me. It is appreciated!

That's what I ended up doing so photos go straight to my camera folder just don't have it syncing with Samsung.
