Why is there no location tracking when I select some of the movement activities from the Galaxy Watch4?
Where can I force it to track me?

Is anyone monitoring this thread? I just windsurfed for 6hrs and no gpa. Super disappointed. Please fix.

I just logged in a 2-hour kitesurfing session on galaxy watch4 and all I got was workout duration and heart rate 😂 NO GPS DATA!!! This can't be serious! The feature is basically not developped!

Needed urgently: GPS tracking and possibility to export a GPX file.

If Samsung decides to develop this feature then it would be nice to have the following metrics tracked:

  • Duration
  • Total Distance
  • Jump hight: every jump + highest jump
  • Speed: average, maximum, max speed over 500m, max speed over 1km
  • Progression: this session vs last session (distance, jump, speed ...etc)
  • Map view of the session
  • Wind information of the spot

Did you check surfr app? It's galaxy watch compatible and does measure jump height https://www.thesurfr.app/

I think isn't so difficult to do so!

Also with the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, location is not included when recording a Windsurfing session. Obviously Samsung has no clue when it comes to windsurfing.

LocosysTech's GW60 Doppler Watch does a good job,  but it doesn't track heartbeat rate.

@Samsung is missing an opportunity here.

Same problem and I'm on the Galaxy watch pro5. Any activity that is outdoors should allow location tracking. I created my own for kitesurfing and cannot use the right icon to find it because of this problem.
