All apps capable of using dark mode should open in dark mode. When dark mode is turned on, any apps not open previously open in light mode, and then change to dark mode after being opened. At nighttime, this can be painful to the eyes to see a flash of white everytime. Also, consider adding a tradition animation when going from dark mode to light mode and vice versa. It would make things a bit more seemless.
