Known issue and I'm certain that it could be patched out easy but still not patched at all and I don't feel confident downloading it from a third party source

It's only because it's still beta. It's compatible on Android 10 stable versions. Just be patient.

Also, downloading from a third party source gets you the same thing as from the Play Store. Just gotta make sure the third party is verified (apkpure, etc.).
