SupportHello LittleMissIsh,
Thanks for letting us know here your experience with the recent updates on your beloved Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 having issues with the back button not working as it should. I feel and understand your frustration for the device you've cared so much while expecting it to perform better after each update. If my device is facing similar experience, I will get worried too.
Before you try out the below recommendations as to your solution, be sure to check if your device's software and related apps, browsers are updated too with the latest version. Please check how to update your mobile device's software in the following order.
Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.
Step 2. Tap on Download and install.
Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Step 4. Restart your device.
Perform Clear Cache Partition.
If you attach accessories such as screen protectors to the touch screen, the touch screen may not work properly. Small stickers, such as protective labels, can also affect touch sensitivity. Some Samsung-unapproved protective glasses or films have only adhesive on the side edges, and if these products are attached to the screen, the protective glass or film may not adhere completely to the screen.
Because of this, some areas of the touch screen may not recognize the touch and may respond intermittently. After removing the attachment, check the touch function again.
Please note: It is recommended to use Samsung-approved accessories. Using unapproved accessories may cause performance problems. Buy your Samsung Protective Glass now in the Samsung Store.
Activate the touch sensitivity feature.
Your Galaxy phone has a feature that increases the touch sensitivity of the screen for use when a screen protector is attached. If you feel that the touch on the screen has become relatively less sensitive after using a screen protector, follow the steps below to enable the Touch Sensitivity feature.
If that doesn't solve the issue, you may submit an error report through the Samsung Members app as follows:
Step 1. Launch the Samsung Members app, and then tap the Support icon for more options.
Step 2. Scroll and select Error reports.
Step 3. Choose a category of your concern. Select "Sensor/Touch".
Step 4. Choose the frequency of the issue you are experiencing. Enter issue details or attach a video or screenshot. Then press Send icons to complete the report.

SupportHello LittleMissIsh,
Sounds to me your apps are crashing when you try to close them. I suspect that in trying to reload certain items when pressing the back button, your phone just decides to just crash the app altogether. No bueno.
Is your phone running slow now? How long has it been since you got the phone, and when did you last clear out your internal memory?
Additionally, you may be running a ton of background apps that may be causing lots of strain on your device's software, causing apps to crash unexpectedly.
My recommendations would be:
- Run the diagnostics tool from the Support tab.
- Clear out some items from internal storage (photos, videos, apps, etc, big files)
- Factory reset your phone
- Bring it to a Samsung Service Center
Whatever you choose to do, we'll be here to support you.
Let me know if this helps :)
