SupportHello John8888,
Thanks for letting us know your experience with your Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra having issues with a fast-draining battery, and we apologize for the inconvenience.
In addition to our dear Samsung members' replies, I took the liberty of providing you with the relevant information regarding your device.
Samsung Galaxy devices support the optimized power mode and app power management feature to extend battery life. During the first few days (about 3 days) after purchase, users have usually activated many applications and set various features for the initial device setting, and the frequency of background operations is optimized during this period. So, during the early days of purchase, you might feel that the battery usage time is shorter as compared to the previous device. If the battery optimization feature is automatically applied about 7 days after purchase, you can expect a similar usage time in comparison to that of the previous device.
Besides, it supports a maximum of 120 Hz for the display refresh rate. When you set the screen motion smoothness to Adaptive mode, your device changes the display refresh rate automatically, depending on the situation and content being played. Thanks to this, you can get smoother animations and scrolling by automatically adjusting your screen refresh rate up to 120 Hz. However, when using the device with a 120 Hz display refresh rate, the battery might get drained more rapidly compared to 60 Hz. Therefore, if you want to conserve battery power, it is recommended to use the device based on a standard refresh rate of 60 Hz (Settings > Display > Motion smoothness > Standard).
Also, it is recommended to optimize battery usage time by setting the Adaptive battery option (Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > More battery settings > Adaptive battery) or adding unused apps to sleep, depending on your usage patterns.
Battery usage time might vary depending on your device settings, operating conditions, or installed applications.
