Hi Samsung community!

So I charged my Galaxy A52 last night and fell asleep while waiting. Gladly my mom plugged it out this morning before I woke up.

I'm just concerned about the phone's health in doing this. Is my phone's battery okay? Will my phone drain faster? What about my cable and adapter?

It's totally fine. Modern smartphone batteries has chip that helps prevent overcharging that can cause damage to battery.

Although the catch is it may degrade battery life faster if you do overnight charging too frequently.

Your phone will be fine as modern technology allows it to stop charging once it reach 100%.

However it will have some other effects:
The phone's battery will have an effect in terms of it's longevity
Electricity will still flow on the plugged chargers, so it will still add to your electric bill.

Hey there, Charles! Your fellow members as correct as for your concern. 😊 Modern chargers nowadays do have an auto-shut off feature which prevents over-charging of your battery. You may observe this by having your device charged, let it continue even after it's full charged, then try to touch the adapter as it is NOT that hot compared when the device still charges.

Nevertheless, it is not that advised to let a device be be left while charging and/or be left plugged overnight as the electricity continues to run. Also, charging while your device is on your bed/under your pillow may cause serious injury/fire incident due to insufficient ventilation and too much heat build up.

Class A/fake wall chargers may also contribute to battery damage of your device due to inaccurate power output which prolongs your charging time, and will further decrease battery lifespan.
