I suggest you play with it in a cooler or near a fan or ac. That's what I do when I use my Fold 4 when gaming. 😄
Also, welcome to the Samsung Members community! 🎊
We are sorry to hear about your experience with the recent updates on your Samsung Galaxy S23+ having issues with overheating while playing games, and we apologize for the inconvenience it caused you. If it happens on my device, I will get worried too. But don't worry, we are here to guide you, and offer solutions to restore your device to optimum performance.
It's a good thing that you were able to apply a do-it-yourself proactive mechanism by utilizing a periodic break in between games in order to manage phone usage. As you may be already aware, the environment is one factor affecting battery life, and continued use when the weather outside is at 30 degrees may contribute to overheating your device. So for an uninterrupted gaming experience, you may consider using it in a cooler environment.
In order to optimize your device's usage time you may do the following:
Step 1. Go to 'Battery and device care' in Settings.
Step 2. Tap 'Optimize now' to check apps with high background battery usage.
If that doesn't fix the problem, you may submit an error report through Samsung Members app as follows:
Step 1. Long press Samsung Members icon on Apps screen and tap Error reports.
Step 2. Tap OK on agreement popup to send system log data.
Step 3. Select Symptom category "Power/Battery/Charging".
Step 4. Describe the problem in details and SEND.
