Currently, these applications are on my S24, technically what comes pre installed are as follows:

Samsung Messages
Google Messages
Samsung Contacts
Samsung Phone

The other two Google apps I've just installed just to see how it would feel like and honestly I am gravitating more towards the Samsung App than Google's.

So i'd like to know from the Community/ Support which applications are more often used.

I personally want to ditch all Google Apps and stick with Samsung, however the "RCS" function for the Samsung app just keeps staying "restart failed" I do recall experiencing this with my previous Galaxy devices years ago, and have tried to troubleshoot but it seems this dilema still exists.

Anyone has a quick fix for this? Because it is quite an eyesore to see most Samsung apps then there is 1 Google app that is off in terms of visuals.

I actuallu considered of installing and using the Google counterparts however, some of the Samsung apps can't be uninstalled or disabled so it is just increasing the storage consumption.

Any helpful tips on this would be greatly appreciated 😃

Yup, RCS failing is a known issue in the Philippines. (I use Google Messages if I really need to send something via RCS - otherwise most people in the PH just use FB Messenger / Viber anyway, so I don't really get to use it as much)

It might be a while before we see a fix for the native app, but for now please keep your phone updated to make sure you don't miss out when it does drop. :)

Hey christiansengco,

You can disable default apps from the Apps option in Settings. You may also hold down the icon, press the info button, force stop the app, and set your preferred Messaging app as default. You can take it out of the home screen, as well.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to remove default apps from the app drawer without root access (which voids any warranties.) I suggest putting them in a folder first so they're out of sight.

Hope this helps!

Don't get me wrong DD, I honestly prefer the Samsung apps over Google as they do use the "Dark mode" properly, my ownly concern is the RCS function of the Samsung messages app, for reason I can't get it to work.

It always indicates an orage dot but after numerous attempts it just says "restart failed"
