Hello is there someone else experiencing this? Charged my Tab S8 to 100% last Sept. 20, 2022 and is currently 89% (Sept 23, 2022) without even using it. Please help if someone is also experiencing this. I didn't expect the tablet to crunch some battery level even without using it. Thank you.

Hello there, what you're experiencing is what we call "idle drain". You see, even if you're not using your device, it is still consuming battery, and this is normal. Based on your usage, the screen off time was almost 3 days, and it lost 11%, and by Android standards, this is normal.

Optimizing your device before putting it to sleep can help reduce battery drain. To do so, go to the Settings screen, tap Battery and device care and press Optimize now. With the quick optimization feature, it improves device performance by closing apps running in the background, managing abnormal battery usage, and scanning for crashed apps and malware.

Putting unused apps to Deep Sleep may also help with the battery drain. Uninstall unnecessary apps you aren't using. Turning off connectivity functions like the WiFi, Location, and Bluetooth when not in use may also help. Finally, when you're planning on not using your device, close all the apps for the meantime. Hope this helps!

Yes, I have done this as well. Most of my apps were in deep sleep. I'm aware of this function. It's just the crunching battery is whopping 11% after 3 days without using. I have a secondary tablet Huawei Matepad 10.4 (Kirin 820) I let it idled for 3 days and it only lessen 5%. I'm not sure if I should just run my tab s8 in power saving mode with 70% cpu capacity. Do you have another tips? Or I might just shut it down if I'm not using it.Screenshot_20220923-185050_Device care.jpgScreenshot_20220923-185528_Device care.jpg

Actually, 3 days and 11% is quite efficient already, not to mention Google Play Services in the background still sips power. Though if you're planning on not using it for a very long period, just turn it off. But if that long period is just 3-5 days, I'm not bothered by that drain, to be honest. But yes, turning on PSM is also good.

Well, Huawei tablets doesn't have any Google Play Services maybe that's why. They have the Huawei services but I think that service doesn't consume large battery unlike Google Play Services. Thanks mate. 😄

Were all radios turned off? Devices these days have multiple radios and apps that use those despite not in use. For telco, BT, WiFi, near field, location and many more. Airplane mode can stop most but if you activate location finding it will be on in the background. Best check app permissions and minimize services.
