update: FireWall settings caused the problems, you have to switch it off

Tried everything suggested here (replies up till 5/3/24) but none worked.

Device: Samsung Tab s7 and windows 11 (Hp Pavillion 14)

Tried downloading Second Screen app on laptop. The laptop found the tablet, but it says that it can't connect. Tried disabling VPN and Bitdefender's firewall and antivirus, still didn't work. Pairing with bluetooth is successfull but still second screen not working. I have successfully use my smart TV screen as monitor, but not my samsung tablet.

Hopefully someone has other brillian idea and share it here. I will share here if I found something. I'll do a bit more research then I think i'll move on to using a third party app now.

Thanks for all the ideas guys. Though still disappointing that it hasn't work.

OH WAIT! I restarted my laptop and tried connecting it again (using second screen app on laptop) and it worked! Note that at this point I still haven't turned on my firewall and antivirus (probably its more the firewall then the antivirus). I don't have VPN on laptop, but I have it on my tablet and i've paused it. And the laptop and tablet bluetooth hasn't been paired as above (so probably in my case it has nothing to do with bluetooth)

While my tablet is displaying the laptop's screen, I turned on my Bitdefender firewall/antivirus again on my laptop and tablet, and then my VPN on my tablet (I only have it on my tablet) and this time Second Screen works regardless.

Can't comment on where the issue initially lie in the beginning but its working now. Though another issue now is theres quite a bit of a lag on the tablet end when typing or moving cursor, though thats probably a different question for a different thread.

Thanks guys.

Just a note. Second Screen on samsung tablet won't work if you turned on hotspot on the tablet. You have to switched off hotspot on the tablet to use Second Screen.

EVERYONE! GOOD NEWS!

I've had this issue for several weeks, and someone else pointed out that you should try disabling firewall. I can confirm that it does work and will allow connections between the PC and the tablet. But remember to reactivate the firewall. You don't need to keep it off forever. You only need to turn it off, connect via wireless like you normally would, then enable the firewall back. This won't prevent you from reconnecting in the future. I tested it myself. After reenabling firewall, connecting second screen is instant. No more hiccup. So make sure you reenable the firewall.

Thank you for the recommendations,  tricks, ... but, in my case (hp elitebook windows 10 and Samsung tab s9+), none of them worked (including turning off windows firewall).

I hope someone from Samsung reads the thread an provides an "official" solution. But, I'm almost convinced that it won't happen 😕
