TabletsMy Samsung Tab S2 which I purchased in 2015, was one of the best builds and still is. It's design has never been matched thereafter by Apple or any other manufacturer, sadly not even Samsung! I have spent countless hours reading books and magazines and watching movies. It has come to my rescue when my laptop failed. It has been my travel companion to several countries. So many moments of boredom erased with a perfectly sized screen and ergonomic design grip. The issue I have is that before I could backup my latest data or erase existing data, the screen went blank. I tried various ways to restart but failed. The I noticed that the back of the tab had expanded (bloated). I knew the battery was dead. I took it to Samsung service centre and they told me that it would take 2-3 working days to just examine the tab and then they would charge me ($35 in 2019) for the examination and then only inform me of what steps could be taken. A new battery would cost me around $100. My data was also at risk during this period. I obviously told them thank you, but no. I have since tried to find anyone who will be willing to open the tab in my presence and replace the battery.....but to no avail. A few private service centres have indicated that I would need to leave it with them at least over-night. But with my personal data inside, I have opted out. Therefore, now I am left without the use of my beautiful device, which is today still the most beautiful tablet ever built. I want to use it again, but cannot sadly. What do I do? Any advise would be welcomed.
