Does anyone know if the "soften" feature in Camera assistant makes the camera apply less sharpening, or if it simply adds a kind of softening filter?
I've read some people saying that the option allows you to decrease the level of sharpening, but when you read the description, it is ratger seems to say that it softens the photo (which is not the same ). I hope that my question is clear!

TipTo me, "softening" an image would have to mean that it will be reducing the sharpness of the image.

I agree! That is definitely the result. But what I'm wondering is if it means that there is less processing (less sharpening, like in pro mode, for instance) or "more processing" (after the treatment of the picture, the camera adds a last step to soften the edges, of something similar)...
I'm just curious to know how the camera achieves this softer look.
