Two things.

1. Google Play Store is always updating the apps with monotonous regularity. With the latest iteration, any articles I wish to read now no longer is available in large text, and it takes some tweaking with the fingers to enlarge that text, which means lots of scrolling back and forth to read it. Very unfriendly. I think AI must have decided that I needed to work hard, as a form of punishment.

I can't see any settings for the Google feed that would allow me to correct this issue. It is a great nuisance.

2. I also want to disable Google Discovery and replace it with the Samsung version. How can I do that please?

Google Discovery opens articles in Chrome Custom Tabs - which don't support text scaling well

Fixes:
* Tap ⋮ > Open in browser → use full Chrome to zoom or increase text size
* In Chrome: ⋮ > Settings > Accessibility > Text scaling
* Enable Simplified view in Chrome for clean, large text
* Or go to Settings > Display > Font size to increase system font (affects all apps however)

For Google Discovery / Samsung Free
1. Long-press empty home screen space
2. Swipe to the leftmost page
3. At the top, select Samsung Free (or toggle Google Discover off)

Thank you for this speedy response. Actually Edge is my default browser and these feed articles open in Edge. I just now went into Edge menu and came across the Mobile Site setting, which I chose, and that brought up the article in the reader-friendly version. However, it needs to be chosen each time! Oh well! 😂 I will now try the other suggestion re Samsung Free and get back to you. 👋👌🌤🇦🇺

Hi again, The empty home screen long press just brings up Google, nothing else. I thin I will go into Apps and see if I can find Samsung Free and enable it, then your idea might work. Speak soon!

Me again! The Samsung apps settings list does not include Free, nor show it in the default apps main list either. I went to Galaxy Store and Free looks terrific but isn't like Google Discovery. I recall when I had Samsung Internet as my default browser, there were regular notifications received on my phone from the browser re news items etc. One makes one choices! 🤓 I guess Google it is! Thanks for your help. 🙏

Hi, Well, not really as I have to choose the Mobile Site item each time to get a reader-friendly version. Since this post, I have been exploring the Accessibility features of the phone, and this has made a huge difference in readability, but, unfortunately, not the Google feed articles. I must say in Accessibility mode, the phone looks cleaner and is easier to see and read. I like it! What I will do next is get on to the Microsoft Community Edge Forum and make enquiries there on how to fix this issue.
Thanks for the welcome back. I haven't actually gone anywhere, but have been dealing with some health issues and resting as well, hence am not active as much at present. Cheers, 🤓👋🌷🔆

Hi All, Just an update on immersive reader text size in Edge. Just go to the browser's Settings, then Site Settings and choose Make Mobile site as default. It's always such a simple thing! 😅👋🙏👌❣️
