Tv is dropping earc sound when we start an app such as netflix, etc. I have to go back and restart the app for sound to come back. It's very annoying, is it the soundbar or tv issue?

Hi brizzymate,

Have you tried another hdmi cable? Sometimes switching out the cable does the trick. Also, sometimes the quality of cable can prevent higher quality picture/sound coming through. May pay to check that as well (I.e. hdmi 2.0).

Does it do it with many apps for mainly Netflix? If it's just an app or two, maybe uninstall/reinstall those apps might work.

Tested with new certified 8k hdmi 2.1 cable, still dropping the sound. Done reset of tv, I am suspecting that q90r soundbar was given earc option by software update previously, could there be a version difference with tv and soundbar?

Possibly. Do both the TV and soundbar have the latest firmware updates?
