Dear Samsung Customer Experience and Global Leadership Team,
I am writing to share a personal and professional story that has recently turned into a deep disappointment.
In 2014, I spent over a month in South Korea representing Tower International. I was there to develop local suppliers and oversee the construction of complex stamping tools. During that time, I was impressed by the Korean commitment to engineering and quality. That experience led me to a pivotal choice: I bypassed the iPhone 3 and purchased my first Galaxy S3.
That purchase was the beginning of a decade of loyalty. As a mechanical professional who appreciates precision, I fulfilled my dream of being a watch collector through Samsung. I proudly own and keep the Gear S3, Watch4, Watch5, and Watch7.
However, after upgrading to your latest smartphone, I was hit with the technical barrier that the Gear S3 is no longer compatible with the new ecosystem.
As someone who worked in the automotive industry (Tower International), I understand product lifecycles. But as a collector and a brand advocate who chose Samsung while standing on Korean soil, it is heartbreaking to see a functional piece of engineering become a "brick" solely due to software restrictions. My Gear S3 is a souvenir of my professional journey in your country.
I am reaching out to the headquarters to express that for loyal fans and collectors, hardware is more than just a gadget—it’s a legacy. I hope the engineering team understands that maintaining support for these legacy "icons" is what separates a tech company from a brand that people truly love and defend.
