I lost my galaxy bud3 and I try to trace it using smartThings. It shown spotted by nearby device, does that means that device connecting to my bud or its just nearby the device? Anyone know?

SmartThings utilise other nearby Samsung devices (with permission) to detect your lost item (called Offline finding), though not as accurate but will give you an estimate location of the item.

Hope this helps!

How to allow the device to detect it? If I try running search nearby, should it detect the bud if I'm near ni? Because it didn't

It's not your device, it's those nearby it.

It shows the last pinged location until refreshed. IT does not need to be near you, as long as there are other Samsung devices nearby your lost item, it will try to use them to bounce signal back to your SmartThings app.

If it's not appearing then there could be a few factors causing it - location (underground), dead battery etc.

I once dropped my device in an Uber, managed to track it using SmartThings and got it back (it was in a different district)

Found it!!! It's in my sisters car. The way I found it is that, I got a notification of its location in a different location and it matches her car location. So it's a big hint. When she went back, I just went to her car and ran the search button and tried to ring it so it made noise
