My ip68 samsung galaxy watch 4 was splashed with waters, surprisingly it is then got water damaged. Samsung Malaysia wants me to pay for rm520 for the reparation, but this faulty is not because of me. You advertised that this device is ip68 and submersible underwater up to 50metres, then it got splashed with water and turns out to be water damaged, then you asked me to pay for the repair? F*** samsung liar and scammer. How do I get them to repair this? Without me paying for something that they f**** lied.

There must be something with the water condition that damages your Watch4. My Watch3 classic has been exposed to water a lot of times and still has no damage on it.

Normal water. Not milo, coffee, tea or anything like it. Please.

Sorry to hear that from you. This is why I never bother to any devices which tells me about IP68 or water resistance. Yes, every company will tell their customer that their products are all water resistance. BUT, do they dare and honest to tell their customer in details too as in what is the devices warranty come with?

FYI, Samsung did list out in their warranty page for water resistance/ IP68 terms. They do not cover any liquid damage which is yes BUT they do mention that water damage too will not be cover.

So those who actually bought their devices with the magic word ‘IP68’, please do take note that Samsung will not warranty you if there is a water damage if it happens to your devices (unless you pay for the repair). But they never mention to their customer when they selling out their devices. They will tell you yes, the devices can go deep into don’t know how many feet but no one mention about the warranty. This is all about marketing gimmick.

FYI, this is not just about Samsung. Even other branded devices also will not cover for the water damage including Epal.

To me, this of course makes no sense. Wish there was some way to put enough pressure on Samsung to either honor the warranty when the device is used as advertised or at least put up a huge disclaimer about the limitations of their so-called water proof/ IP68 "warranty".

Overseas consumer rights is more established and many big companies don't want to get bad reputation and image. In Malaysia, our consumer rights are too weak to make an impact.

I agree that Samsung Malaysia will not stand by their product. Mine died 13 months old, one month out warranty. Just search online and you'll find that this a common problem. Samsung wants RM4xx to fix it. This reminds me of their attitude when G7 phones were catching on fire. All airlines banned that model from planes. I am going to look into buying a Pixel or Apple watch. Done with Samsung.
