Hi,
I have bought recently a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. It's a great watch, and so accurate, but the BIA must have some updates to be more accurate cause sometimes it stops a 66% or it doesn't detect, so an update can fix it. But overall the BIA and other sensors are so far so good. But this post is actually about the other tech feature that is not available yet in Canada when for example the Galaxy Watch 4 going to get the ECG approval? It looks like so many watches from Samsung are missing these features (in Canada). What makes this feature not available in Canada? Is there any other app we can download to activate that feature?

Thanks

Hi, Currently, those features are not available on Galaxy Watch4 Series devices in Canada. As soon as we have an update on availability in Canada we will let you know.

How long has the response been:

"As soon as we have an update on availability in Canada we will let you know."?

For the owners of these Samsung products, it must be getting really old.

I reluctantly moved to Android from iOS because of the Samsung hardware and features.  I’m on my 4th top of the line product now and the only one that works and includes the features advertised is the older model I purchased and originally registered in the US.  The Canadian watch seems to be treading the same path as the Canadian smartphones.  Significant deal breaking features not available on the Canadian release, a company (Samsung) that requires you to accept new T&C and privacy policy (shudder) in order to get data already recorded in the health app and a staggering level of poor information through tech and pre sale support.  Samsung Canada, and it’s lack of candor, are probably the most compelling reason to consider Apple as an alternative or to return to it.  Recent changes to iOS and iPadOS narrow the usability gap with Android considerably.  The only thing keeping me is the better integration with Windows though the Your Phone app.  Perhaps I’ll dump the functionally impaired Samsung product and see what Google have to offer.  Continuing to believe the Samsung BS about ‘any day now’ and paying premium price for a crippled to less than premium product just doesn’t make sense.

This response was getting old in 2020, now it's just irritating! We all feel ripped off to be sold a product that doesn't have the features it was marketed for and that we PAID for. I have concerns with heart health and contacted Samsung here saying I was thinking of getting the watch but only wanted to buy it because of the ECG feature and asked if it would be available soon. I was told to "watch for the next update" and that it would be available soon... that was in 2020. You're losing long time customers (10 years!) because of your lack of transparency. If I was told it would be a while before it was approved or that it likely wouldn't be available for another year I would have understood and got something like the Fitbit Sense for ECG. Instead, Samsung keeps stringing people along with false hopes and people like me end up switching all of our gear to another company simply due to frustration. "As soon as we have an update in Canada we will let you know" is the most generic, disappointing response that is typical of Samsung. Be honest with your customers or you're going to continue losing them.

Absolutely!

Adding insult to injury are the cut & paste response from most of Samsung's Moderators.

It's beyond the point where it became a joke, now it's just pathetic.

What exactly is being done that would warrant an 'update' on Canadian availability? What is the hold up, what is the plan, and why is the plan failing?

Because right now it appears as if the plan is to just keep blowing us off hoping that we'll go away and stop asking about it.

Any updates yet?

Or can you offer any insights as to what Samsung HAS done and is CURRENTLY doing to solve this issue?
